What Happens When Your Dumpster Gets Full Before Your Project Is Finished?

You rented a dumpster, got to work, and things were going great. Then you look over and realize the dumpster is already full, but the project definitely isn’t finished.

It happens more often than you might think.

Cleanouts uncover more stuff than expected. Remodels create a surprising amount of debris. Construction projects can keep producing waste long after the first dumpster fills up.

The good news is that a full dumpster doesn’t mean your project has to stop. With Elite Dumpster Services, you can contact us about swapping your full dumpster for an empty one so you can keep working.

Don’t Wait Until You’re Completely Out of Room

If you already know you’re going to have more debris than your dumpster can hold, let us know.

Waiting until the dumpster is overflowing can bring your project to a standstill. Now you’ve got people working, more debris being created, and nowhere to put it.

Planning the swap ahead of time helps keep things moving.

This is especially useful for contractors and larger projects where keeping the job site clear matters. Instead of letting debris start piling up beside a full dumpster, you can have the container hauled away and continue working with an empty one.

What If I Rented the Wrong Dumpster Size?

Don’t beat yourself up over it. Estimating how much space you’ll need isn’t always easy.

Elite Dumpster Services offers 16-yard, 20-yard, and 28-yard dumpsters, giving you several options depending on the amount of material you’re dealing with.

Sometimes a smaller dumpster is all you need. Other times, even the largest dumpster might need to be emptied more than once during a big project.

If you’re renting for the first time, tell us what you’re working on. We can help you choose a size based on the project and what you expect to throw away.

Can I Just Keep Everything Beside the Dumpster?

We don’t recommend planning on it.

Leaving debris beside the dumpster creates more work, can make the area harder to navigate, and means everything still has to be loaded eventually.

If the dumpster is full and you’ve still got a significant amount left to throw away, a swap is usually the cleaner solution.

Get the full container out, bring an empty one in, and keep going.

How Does a Dumpster Swap Work With Elite Dumpster Services?

We try to keep it simple.

  1. Let us know your dumpster is getting full. Call or text us before you run completely out of space if possible.
  2. Tell us you still have more to throw away. We’ll work with you on getting the full dumpster hauled off and another container out to the property.
  3. We haul away the full dumpster. You don’t have to worry about transporting or disposing of the material yourself.
  4. Keep working. Once you’ve got an empty dumpster again, you can get right back to the project.

If you think you’ll need multiple swaps during a larger project, tell us that too. Knowing what you’re working on helps us better understand what you’ll need.

Planning a Bigger Project in Northwest Arkansas?

Sometimes one dumpster is plenty. Sometimes you fill the first one and realize you’ve barely scratched the surface.

Either way, that’s what we’re here for.

Elite Dumpster Services provides 16, 20, and 28-yard dumpster rentals throughout Northwest Arkansas. If your dumpster fills up before the work is finished, get in touch with us and we’ll help you figure out the next step.

If you haven’t rented yet, you can also contact us before your project begins and we’ll help you determine which dumpster size makes the most sense.
